Dr Dina El Sayed is an experienced ophthalmologist with special interests in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and Strabismus (ocular motility or squint). Dina has over a decade experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology and also undertook a prestigious ocular motility fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in 2016.
Over the course of her career, Dina has developed expertise in strabismus surgeries, the management of complex paediatric cataract cases, and screening for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Additionally, Dr Dina diagnoses and manages a range of general eye conditions including retinal diseases, ocular surface and corneal disease, and Neuro-Ophthalmology cases.
Dina also has a passion for education, being a specialist lecturer of Paediatric Ophthalmology for over 10 years at Alexandria University. During her time at Alexandria University, Dina thoroughly enjoyed teaching and examining undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Ophthalmology.
With a keen interest in research surrounding Paediatric Ophthalmology and strabismus, Dina has co-authored several journal articles. Most recently, Dr El Sayed’s research has focused on vertical muscle transpositions without lateral rectus weakening for the treatment of exotropic patients with an adduction deficit.
Dr El Sayed strives to provide her patients with the best possible ophthalmic care through her dedication to the profession and personable nature. Dina is fluent in English and Arabic and is happy to conduct consultations in Arabic.
